For the first time in Canberra the Spanish microbiologist Dr Francisco Mojica will be giving a public lecture at the Australian Academy of Science about his pioneer work on the adaptive immunity system of prokaryotes CRISPR-Cas. The discovery that ultimately led to the CRISPR gene editing technique, one of the greatest recent advances in Biology and Medicine.
