Policy Dialogue - Border Control in the Neighbourhood: EU, Australia and the US

Policy Dialogue - Border Control in the Neighbourhood: EU, Australia and the US

Presented by the Jean Monnet Migration and Integration Network (PPCEUMI)

This invitation-only policy dialogue brought together academics, diplomats and policymakers to discuss border control experiences from the European Union, Australia and the United States. This one-day event included two sessions on how states engage with their regional partners to ‘extend’ the border to manage regular and irregular migration. Speakers provided context on existing border control policies and how states use diplomatic and financial tools to encourage and discourage different forms of migration.
