Leading researchers discuss political elites at SPIR

Last week, leading researchers on political elites came to the School of Politics and International Relations for a two-day workshop.

The goal was to advance data collection in studies of members of parliament, ministers, judges, political staff, and others. The ANU School of Politics and International Relations is home to the Selection and Deselection of Political Elites (SEDEPE) network, which brings researchers together and encourages data sharing.

As a result of the workshop, participants agreed to work towards a first-of-its-kind database on ministers, as a first step to cataloguing political elites around the world.
