Thesis topics

Why do the overwhelming majority of large government ICT projects still fail? ICT is now a mature industry in both the public and private sectors, the industry remains well funded, there are standards, guidelines and methodologies, yet failure is still the norm. Explaining why this pattern of persistent failure remains the norm is the puzzle to be addressed in this thesis. Thesis Supervisory Panel: Panel Chair: Professor John Wanna  

Grant Douglas commenced his PhD at the School of Politics and International Relations in February 2017. Grant commenced his studies after leaving the NSW Public Sector after 30+ years.  Grant was a Senior Program Manager in the NSW Department of Education's  Information Technology Directorate.  He was responsible for managing large-scale Information and Communication Technology (ICT) initiatives, managing multi-billion dollar budgets and large teams.
