The EU's strategy for cooperation in the Indo-Pacific: fostering a shared vision of the future

The ANU Centre for European Studies and the National Centre for Research on Europe, in conjunction with the European Studies Association Australia and New Zealand, are delighted to invite you to a seminar on the EU's strategy for cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.

In April 2021, the EU launched its new Strategy for Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. This strategy recommits the EU to the Indo-Pacific region with the aim of contributing to its stability, security, prosperity and sustainable development. The EU is seeking to promote an open and fair environment for trade and investment, while enhancing its strategic autonomy and safeguarding its values and interests in the region.

Our guest speaker is Dr Fabio Spadi, who has been the Deputy Head of Delegation of the European Union to Australia since September 2017. He currently also serves as the Head of the Political, Press and Information Section at the Delegation. Dr Spadi holds a PhD in International Law from the Scuola Superior Sant’Anna (Italy) and has published widely in the area of public international law.

The webinar is part of the ANUCES Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence for EU-Australia Economic Cooperation delivered with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
