ANUCES Associate, Dr Mary Besemeres has published the translation of the fairy tale by Polish Jewish poet Bolesław Leśmian, The Adventures of Sindbad the Seafarer (Przygody Sindbada Żeglarza), with beautiful illustrations by Julia Konieczna. It is an unusual story, a version of the Arabian tale first published in Warsaw in 1913. Mary Besemeres was interviewed by Culture.pl about the translation and her experience growing up between Polish and Australian cultures.
