The Jean Monnet Project Leader of the LiDiA Project, Dr Rita Parker, moderated the wide-ranging discussions of both panels during colloquium which was opened by the Chancellor of the Australian National University Ms Julie Bishop. The colloquium was live-streamed to enable access to a wider audience. LiDiA Activities 

The Masterclass was organized as a second day of Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine: A Colloquium. The leader of the LiDiA Project, Dr Rita Parker, welcomed and introduced the Ambassador Designate of Ukraine, Mr Vasyl Myroshnychenko, who opened the session. The Masterclass addressed several aspects of challenges to the liberal democratic model from the perspective of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and implications for the future. Academics from a broad range of areas provided their insights into those issues. The speakers included Dr Robert Horvath (La Trobe University), A/Prof William Partlett (The University of Melbourne), Dr Stephen Fortescue (UNSW), Mr Petr Kuzmin (President of Svoboda Alliance VIC), Mr Bertil Wenger (Konrad Adenauer Stiftung), Dr Matthew Sussex (Australian Defence College), Dr Sonia Mycak (ANU), Dr Elena Govor (ANU). The Masterclass was open to students and the public.
