Congratulations to Dr. Constanza Sanhueza, new ACF Fellow

The Australian Centre for Federalism (ACF) is proud to announce Dr. Constanza Sanhueza Petrarca as new ACF Fellow.

Dr. Sanhueza Petrarca is a Lecturer in Comparative Politics at the School of Politics and International Relations at the Australian National University.

Since 2017, Constanza has been the Associate Editor of the Academic Journal Representation published by Taylor & Francis, and since 2022, Co-Chair of the Quantitative Methods Research Group within the Australian Political Studies Association. Constanza’s research has been published in peer-reviewed top academic journals such as Democratization; Party Politics; and Governance

Constanza has extensive experience working as a consultant and advisor on topics related to democracy, elections and political representation. This experience has spanned international and national organisations including among others the European Parliament, the European Commission, Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the National Congress of Argentina and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Constanza also regularly appears on national and international media and provides political analysis to media organisations. She is currently completing two federalism-related research projects, the first, A global study on federalism, minorities and political representation, and the second, a study on voting reforms including Latin American federations: Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela and also federal cases from around the world: US, Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium and Canada. This study examines within-country variations.
