Success in latest round of ARC grants

The School congratulates Dr Juliet Pietsch and Dr Ryan Walter on their success in the latest round of DECRAs awarded by the ARC. These grants represent 20% of the DECRAs awarded nationally in political science.

Dr Pietsch will research "Asian Australian political identities and participation across communities: comparisons with the United States". Dr Ryan Walter will complete research on "The rise of the national economic interest".

Dr Juliet Pietsch and Dr Ryan Walter were also successful in the round of Discovery applications. 

Professor Toni Makkai, Professor Ian McAllister and Dr Juliet Pietsch were awarded funding for their Discovery project "Political participation and electoral representation among first and second generation
migrants to Australia".

Professor John Uhr and Dr Ryan Walter were awarded funding for their project "Australian political rhetoric: the role of public speech by elected representatives in contemporary Australian politics".
