UN Human Rights Agreements

Welcome to the Database of UN Human Rights Agreements. Here, you can access information on all UN human rights conventions, covenants, and protocols created between 1945 and 2017.

I created this data tool in the hope of encouraging scholars and anyone else interested in human rights to ‘think big!’ Literally anyone with an internet connection can make use of the data. Here, you can easily learn about the design and legal status of these agreements, honing in on a few countries/issue-areas/time-periods, or looking at the entire universe of UN human rights law. Data can easily be merged with other variables commonly used in political science and in other literatures.

Please feel free to direct any questions or feedback to Jana von Stein
