Thesis title: Incumbent Leaders and Violent Electoral Behaviour

Ernest is a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Politics and International Relations at the Australian National University (ANU). His doctoral project investigates the impact of leader characteristics and personal backgrounds on electoral violence. Specifically, Ernest examines the effects of leaders’ military backgrounds, Western tertiary education, term limit manipulation(s) as well as the impact of populist rule on electoral violence.
