Juniar Laraswanda Umagapi, S.IP., M.A. is a PhD candidate at the School of Politics and International Relations, College of Arts and Social Sciences, Australian National University. She is a distinguished recipient of the Australia Awards Scholarship from Indonesia.
Wanda holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (2014) and a master’s degree in politics from the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia (2017). Since 2019, she has been serving as a legislative analyst in the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), where she contributes to shaping legislative processes and policies. Her doctoral research explores women’s role in the decision-making process in the Indonesian Parliament, focusing on pivotal case studies such as the Sexual Violence Crimes Law and the Mother and Child Welfare Law, aiming to shed light on the dynamics of women’s contributions in legislative frameworks.
